Exhibition Text / Press Release:
Rüzgar Polat’s first solo exhibition “Dim Light” is opening on December 2nd at Space Debris. The exhibition containing Polat’s most recent works, may be seen until January 6th, 2018.

“I revealed the darkness that has been holding my emotions in its hands for a while, the fight within myself, with the exact forms and colors. I wanted to paint that moment of losing faith. The moment where most colors disappeared from my vision and the period that made me realize their deep influence. The weight the world is the main reason for the chaos within me. My works are my factual beings, the only place I can show this chaos. It is the best condition I can show my spiritual power to the world and to myself. And it is for this reason, I am looking to find a way to touch the soul through my creations; so that anyone can feel free to enter its empty spaces, and replace their own vision in place of the void faces. My works are accompanied with the clear endless depths and lines depicting the vicious cycle my emotions are lost in. I enjoy giving the attention to the forms, which then ends up with the feeling of void with utter fear and saddness. The universe does the same to me too. There is no end to this game I built upon my reality, people around me and my imagination, just like our minds.”

Rüzgar Polat,  born in 1993, graduated from İzmir Ümran Baradan Fine Arts High School with a focus in painting. Polat continues his works in Istanbul and will be graduating from Yeditepe University this year. In his paintings  Polat focuses on the fears of the beings who get lost in their own imagination and can not show themselves as they wish to the outside world. He depicts figures who are in search for their own universe, but do not have the courage to seek it. These are the stories of people who got lost while searching for themselves.
